Looking back and feeling fine!

Awesome Artwork Collage

You can create a photo collage of your artwork at PicMonkey.
Five of these paintings have sold already!

I want to thank Leslie Saeta for creating this 30 day painting challenge. Also, her radio blog show called "Artists Helping Artists" has been a major influence. Without outside forces on our life, what would we become? Challenges help us to find our inner strength which comes from our Creator. He is the Creative Genius behind our spirits. Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!

Are you up to the challenge of finding your creative spirit which may be buried. I want to help guide you through "The Artist's Way" by Julia Cameron in the next couple of months. So, join me and others as we find our creativity and grow stronger!

Day 30 - Painting Challenge Finale

Tucker
6x6" oil on Raymar portrait panel

This is my finale to the 30 days of painting horses! I guess painting one subject that long has a way of driving you mad! I wanted a change and so I turned to the next subject I want to explore.
Portraiture can be a real challenge, but I plan on doing more of children and even famous people, like presidents (who are long since passed away and can't sue me). HA!
Don't forget to sign up for my email posts so you can get your creativity flowing more in the next few weeks. I will be posting the steps on Facebook, as well.
I want to see more people become the creative individuals they were meant to become! (So I'll have someone who understands me better!)

Day 29 of 30 Day Painting Challenge

Carousel #4
7x5" oil with palette knife

Okay, next to last day to post and my horse feels a bit childish, but free-spirited. I am working on "The Artist's Way: a spiritual path to higher creativity" by Julia Cameron and invite you to join me through my blog. If you think you could never be creative, then you may need this course more than you think. I want to encourage more people to get outside their self-contained limitations and find their creative self.
There is no charge for this class and you will come away feeling more energized and ready to try new things.

This 30 day painting challenge has taught me so many lessons. Crystal Cook really made it clear through her blog. Not every painting can be a masterpiece (like this one shows).
You often will feel pressured and drained unless you make time for your creative artist self.
Family time still needs to be more important than posting a painting everyday.
It's about the journey, not the destination!

I do plan on doing more regular paintings, but I'd really like to spend my weekends doing one large one rather than the small ones I sweated over. I also prefer loose paintings, so tomorrow's post will surprise you for sure!

Day 28 of 30 Day Painting Challenge

Giacomo's Show
24x16" framed in silver frame

This sculptural description of famous racehorse, Giacomo, hangs in the Paul Sawyier Art Gallery in Frankfort. I wanted an unusual cropping for him. I love color, but this one is toned down from my usual color choices.
Every day we have choices. Each of us has to determine which way our lives should go and with God's help, we can find our true path.

Day 27 of 30 Day Painting Challenge

Black Foals
SOLD

This was my first piece to sell in a gallery and I still am thankful for that boost in my career as an artist.
I love painting horses! I had horses growing up and hope to have one in the future! Until then, I will keep painting them and dreaming...
