Degas' Dancer Statue

The Virginia Museum of Fine Art in Richmond, West Virginia, is a treasure trove of artifacts!  I was astounded with all the galleries and how long it took us to tour only a fraction of the whole museum.  We paid the extra to see the special exhibition of Indian art, which was worth it, but then the other collections were so intriguing.  When I came upon the Degas gallery, that really got me!  You know, the Dancer, with  her little ribbon in her hair.. that was a real ribbon!  I snapped this shot of her, along with all the equine statues and just felt like I was in a very special place, being surrounded by his art-not holy, but very close!

When I looked at other images of her, I found the skirt was different.  This one appears to be a newer version.  So, although I am a natural skeptic, I did find mixed images on the internet.
I'm not an art historian, but it was awe-inspiring to see.
